CD 1001 Laghonia * Unglue CD (1967 / 1971)

Psych Prog Rock: ( unreleased music ) If you already know about the psychedelic peruvian band called: Laghonia and their albums: "Glue" & "Etcetera" (1971), you probably wonder what exactly this release is. Now, avaliable for the first time ever: 54 minutes of unreleased versions from the songs of the album: "Glue", plus two unreleased tracks from the rehearsals sessions of their first album."Chocolate houses" was the beggin on psychedelic style from those guys and "Confusion in the Street" was recorded in concert.
If you collect psychedelic music or are starting to get involved with this kind of music, you should know this unique band, one of the few in South America that used Hammond B2 organ in the studio and live performances. This band played only original compositions influenced by The Beatles, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, Cream and many others. Their first album is one of the best rock albums in South America. Now, you can even listen what was behind that album in this release, while you listen the rehearsals, acoustic and instrumental tracks.When this band brokes up, became in We all Together, but Laghonia is quite more psychedelic and weird ! ..............This is the first release of the Peruvian label Repsychled Records.

CD 1003 Los Nuevos Shain's * Singles (1969 / 1970)

Garage Freakbeat Rock: After the legendary Peruvian beat-garage group Los Shain's broke up, Enrique "Pico" Ego Aguirre (guitar) formed: Los Nuevos Shain's, a short lived band which released one album and some 45 rpms with different line-ups. They played cover versions of Santana, Cream, Hendrix, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jefferson Airplane, Spirit and many others. Their garage music is characterized by vast use of fuzz, wah-wah guitars, flashing organ and loud drumming, sometimes they use hypnotic dreamin' melodies with freakbeat style and wild vocals, all tracks are sung in english (instead than spanish when Gerardo was the singer). After Los Nuevos Shain's, Pico plays on Gerardo Manuel & el Humo album called Apocallypsis (Repsychled CD 1002), but then Pico founded his own band that was named PAX, which played rather hard rock music and was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin but with yelling vocals. PAX became the first power rock blues outfit recorded in Peru in 1971. Two years before this, Los Nuevos Shain’s was the beginning in the search of that powerful heavy rock sound.
Now, Repsychled Records (PE) makes for the first time ever, a official issue from this band, wich contains all their 7" singles and 4 bonus unreleased tracks. Also includes a booklet with photos of their singles records and mastertapes. This reissue was done using the sound taken from the original master tapes and remastered very carefully with tube amplifiers.

CD 1004 Traffic Sound * Virgin (1970)

Psych Rock: January 1970, Traffic Sound’s second album called Virgin appears on the market. This is the first Peruvian rock album with 100% original tunes, also was the first time that a peruvian band made a gatefold cover. This album contains the hit single: "Meshkalina", with a fussion of latin rythms, power rock and hippie lyrics. The uniqueness of their sound made this band so special, they have influences like the Animals, Iron Butterfly, Jimi Hendrix Experience and Pink Floyd, but with their original touches of course. This album includes some beautiful acoustic tracks like: "Virgin", "Simple" and "Last song", and also progressive rock ones like: "Yellow sea days" and "Jews caboose".

Psych Rock Prog: December 1970, Traffic Sound’s made their eponimus album, with a increadible tri-fold pink cover, called: Traffic Sound (same) with lots of cool photos inside, very psychedelic design. Original artwork was created by the musicians. This album contains the hit single"Chicama way", a fussion of rock and latin grooves. This album includes latin flavour with some UK rock influences like The Beatles, Jethro Tull, Cream and Pink Floyd but with thier own style. Powerful songs like ‘Tibet’s Suzettes”, “Yesterday’s game” and “What you need and what you want” made this album a must on any psychedelic collection.

CD 1006 Telegraph Avenue * Telegraph Avenue (1971)

Psych Latin Rock: July 1971, Telegraph Avenue eponimus debut album appears on the market to become the best seller rock record of the year. This four pieces outfit kick Peruvian scene with four different vocal melodies in english, mixed together with killer guitars and latin grooves. This album contains the hit single: "Something going". Time was right for latin rock with psychedelic touches, and this new band with only original tunes had a great debut with this album. Their songs sound like Grand Funk’s early records, but some others have vocal melodies like Southern rock or West Coast style. Guitars saturate the amplifiers at the top of their tunes, using natural distortion and feedbacks, latin bass lines, powerful drums and latin flavored percussions filling all songs with the uniqueness of their sound. When this band breaks up, drummer and singer form a band with two argentine friends called: Tarkus (Repsychled CD 1007).

CD 1007 Tarkus * Tarkus (1972)

Heavy Rock: In the beginning of 1972, Telegraph Avenue breaks up.Walo, the drummer, receives the visit of two friends from Argentina: Guillermo Van Lacke and Darío Gianella. This trio begins to play some music at Walo’s place. Finally, Alex Nathanson joins them as the singer, but now singing in spanish. Thus, these two ex-Telegraph Avenue members with two Argentine musicians begin to play heavy music in Lima. These friends called themselves: Tarkus and they were definitively too loud for the scene of that time.
This eponimus album was recorded on eight channels in only five weeks with all original tunes. Their album was the first heavy rock LP from South America. An eight tracks record with killer guitars, yelling vocals and powerful bass and drums. Sometimes play music with an acoustic guitars also. They had an original heavy sound influenced by Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. This was the only recording of their music in their short time together, after this record was done, the band had to be split very quickly.
34 years later, peruvian label Repsychled Records, has the pleasure to reissue this album for the first time ever, as a mini LP replica CD, including three inserts, one with unseen photos of the band, press comments from news papers clippings and photos of their original lyrics used on their rehearsals, second insert with biography of the band and third with the lyrics as a replica of it's rare insert. This reissue was done using the original master tapes and was remastered very carefully with tube amplifiers. Garage Rock n roll: In 1965, Lima city was the place who saw the first band in southamerica who played only original tunes. A mix of wild garage with agressive lyrics, screams, and a rock n' roll attitude that was never seen before, they played music without any kind of influence. This CD includes their complete recordings, plus 2 bonus tracks of "Camisa de Fuerza" and "Cementerio" without reverb and with few extra seconds of the soundcheck.
This CD contains the hit single:"Demolición" with the classic screams: "tatatata tatatata yayayaya - echemos abajo la estación del tren", playing primitive but very intensive rock & roll with killer guitars, insane screams, wild garage drums and groovy basslines. A nice digipack with 2 inserts, one with more than 30 unseen photos from the band, newspapers reviews, mastertape boxes and original 45rpm labels, plus another insert with the lyrics of all songs. Prog Soft Rock: In 1973, We all together already have 2 LP's out. First album was the best seller in 1972 with some originals and 4 covers (Paul McCartney and Badfinger), second album was more interesting with participation of a brass section and orquestra in some songs. After that, the band record their first original track in Spanish called: "Lo más grande que existe en el amor" wich had a great success, so start to record more new songs making a total of ten originals and three covers. This new songs came out in singles and a EP. At the end of 1974 the band splits. This 5 piece combo makes great music, a mix of power pop rock with soft progressive rock touches. Also a mixing of The Beatles' Abbey Road era with some Badfinger rock style and George Harrison hindu inspiration. This CD is focus to rescue the last period of We all together, with this thirteen songs wich also reflex the way they are growing up in recording skills, and the use of an ARP Odyssey synthesizer for the first time in Peru. Artwork was done by Manuel Cornejo, drummer of the band.
34 years later, peruvian label Repsychled Records in collaboration with Lion Productions label (USA), has the pleasure to make a great reissue of this band. This CD has a 24-page booklet in a jewel box with great unseen photos and drawns and explanation about the songs including on this compilation in both spanish/english language. Some of this songs never came out before on CD, but most important is that all tracks were rescue from their original master tapes, and remastered very carefully with tube amplifiers by Saul Cornejo (guitar player from the band). Bossa Fussion Funk Soul: Originally recorded between 1969 to 1971. It's the first album of fussion music recorded in Peru, a mix of bossanova and jazz, with latin and few soul mixture. If you are looking for well respected music this is for you. Listen the sweet melodies of the saxophone by Nilo Espinosa, latin jazz style piano by Otto de Rojas and female vocals by Carmen Rosa Basurco, nicest arrangemets with the percusion. This CD is an official release with the sound taken from the original master tapes and remastered very carefully with tubes amplifiers. Includes the whole album plus 4 bonus tracks from their rare EP. Artwork is a mini-lp replica of the original release, plus some photos on the booklet. When the band brokes up, Nilo Espinosa formed Nil's Jazz Ensemble. In this 47 minute EP you will find two new songs, one cover from Los Saicos (peruvian garage band from 1965) and three different versions of songs from their previous release "Hacia el Sol Rojo". This CD includes a mix of songs wich goes from Space Rock to Doom style, powerful chords of Heavy Rock to close with a long quite hypnotic title track. Garage Rock n roll : Los Shain's was definitly the most popular garage band from Peru in the 60's. They played very fast and wilder. This band was founded by Enrique "Pico" Ego Aguirre, who also found PAX in the 70's. Los Shain's have some different line ups, but the most solid one includes Gerardo Manuel Rojas on vocals with brothers Barreda on bass and drums. Now, their old label from the 60's made a double CD called "Anthology" due to their 40th anniversary. You can listen there great cover versions from classic tracks of bands like: The Trashmen, The Ventures, Question Mark & the Mysterians, The Yardbirds, Paul Revere and the Riders and many other. Stoner Heavy Space Rock (Peru):... From Lima, Peru come La Ira de Dios, a three piece intent on carving their own niche next to current greats like Colour Haze and SubArachnoid Space within the vast spectrum of psychedelic rock. There’s a heavy ‘70s rock vibe to Hacia el Sol Rojo, one that stems indirectly from Pink Floyd and Hawkwind. Starting with the instrumental first track, La Ira de Dios, like all good psychedelic rock bands, fly through the cosmos. Unlike the contemporaries mentioned above, the band is more rooted in the classic ‘70s rock sound. It’s classic boogie from another era. Hard Doom Rock (Peru):... The music definitely harkens back to an early time period when the doom genre was just starting to take hold. The sound is equal parts Pentagram and Black Sabbath. There is also a distinctive progressive feel in the music that is supplied by the use of non-traditional instruments like mandolin and interesting rhythmical breakdowns within the songs themselves. It is evident from the first track that this is an outfit that really cares about their craft and has spent many hours fine tuning their sound into something very intense, very heavy, and very spiritual. Reino Ermitano are a band I like more and more upon each listen. Doom with female vocals and some acoustic parts. Recommended for lovers of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Acid King, and all things doomy and groovy. Produced by Lalo Williams.

Garage rock n' roll (Peru):... Manganzoides plays the craziest old fashioned garage/psych music with a rock & roll attitude, with a touch of psychedelia, that you could ever find coming from South America these days. This CD, their third international release entitled "El entierro de Los Manganzoides", was issued by the Argentine label Rastrillo Records. This CD has 14 tracks, which include 12 originals -3 of them are instros- plus a cover of the Sonics' song "The witch", featuring Rudi Protrudi from The Fuzztones on the amazing guitar solo, and their version of Love's "7 + 7". This band plays primitive rock & roll guitar solos with fuzz and wah/wah, insane Spanish vocals, wild garage drums and groovy basslines, and a deep hypnotic keyboard sound. In this 5 piece combo play Tito and Ali, who also played in the Ira de Dios debut album "Hacia el Sol Rojo", but now these bastards are playing a pure crazy sound. A mix of freak beat with wild garage and sometimes exotica sounds with old surf style. The CD also includes a great hand made animated video of "Mujer boa" and an awesome in concert version of Los Saicos' "Demolición" with these fellas playing together with Erwin Flores, original Saicos singer, as well as original artwork by renowned graphic artist Jorge Alderete.
